Travel to our Northern Italian workshop as we highlight the making of the Petite Rimmed Vase. While most MATCH pieces are cast, these small treasures are spun from two discs of pewter — one for the body and another for the base. Spinning is a process by which a disc of pewter is rotated at high speed and formed into symmetrical shape. A high degree of skill is required to smoothly shape the final contours and details. The base is formed in a similar manner and joined to the body by soldering.

Watch as a MATCH artisan applies years of experience to create this charming little vase. See our complete collection of vases here.
